There comes a point when your little baby will be looking for a bit more stimulation than a ride in the buggy, and baby swings are a great place to start. To find your nearest playground, use the facility search from the Glasgow Council website. It's not the most intuitive piece of software, so instructions follow below.
1. Go to the Glasgow City Council website.
2. Enter your address in the Location Search boxes and click "Search". (If the website then offers you a list of address choices, click on your address to choose it.)
3. You should now see a "Property Details" page, which will list your address and a small map at the top, with information (including your school catchment areas) below.
4. Under "Related Links", click on "View Maps". The site should give you a map of your property, with surrounding streets, etc.
5. At the top of this map, there is a button called "Maps Data". Click on this button.
6. You will next see a list of types of schools. Ignore this, and look for the "Culture and Leisure" button to the left. Click on this button.
7. Now you will see a list of "Culture and Leisure" facilities. The option that's second-to-last is called "Play Area Provisions". Click on this box to put a check mark in it. Now click on the "View Map" button at the top of the page.
8. The next page should contain a map that shows your property, with surrounding streets, etc. All playgrounds on the map are marked by a pink circle with a black dot in the centre.
