Glasgow has over 70 parks, believe it or not, so there are plenty of outdoor spaces to explore when weather permits. The location of the larger parks is shown on this map, courtesy of Glasgow City Council.
Most of us tend to stick to our local parks, but if you're in the mood to explore a new park, Glasgow City Council publish an excellent series of Health Walks, which show routes of varying difficulty within a number of parks. You can either follow the map, or alternatively, you can join one of the guided daily walks through Bellahouston Park, Glasgow Green, King's Park, Kelvingrove Park, Queen's Park, Springburn Park and Tollcross Park.
To get you started, here are some of our favourite parks:
Bellahouston Park
Vast park with extensive asphalt footpaths, perfect for power-pushing that buggy. There are three play areas, including the imaginative 'Grounds for Play', a play/art concept, and various gardens, such as the Victorian Walled Garden and the Sunken Garden.

Botanic Gardens
Lovely outdoor space, with lots of different areas to explore, including a playpark, a children's garden and a vegetable garden. If you need to escape from the the weather, you can retreat indoors to the Kibble Palace or to one of the glasshouses.

Mugdock Country Park
Woodland walks, lochs, play parks, and a castle make this a perfect family venue. There's also a farm-food shop, and two eateries: the Garden House Restaurant, next to the Plantaria, and the more informal Stables Tearoom. During warmer weather, you can sit outside at the terrace of the Garden House Restaurant.

Pollok Country Park
Crowned Europe's Best Park in 2008, Pollok Country Park is Glasgow's largest park. Home to the Burrell Collection, it has various gardens, woodland walks, a play park, themed trails and - the highlight for most toddlers - heavy horses and highland cattle.

Rouken Glen Park
Six miles south of Glasgow along the M77, this park boasts a number of fine walks, a large playpark (for older toddlers), a boating lake and a café.
